“What if materials that were about to become waste could become something meaningful instead?”
SHORT-LIVED MATERIALS
Fundementalist was born from the direct experience of members of Basementjerk who worked in commercial event production and booth exhibitions. They witnessed how tonnages of timber, aluminum frames, and structural materials were used for just a few hours before being dismantled and discarded directly into landfills.
HARMONY WITH NATURE
Simultaneously, one founder was deeply involved in skateboarding and wanted to create a space where skate culture could exist in organic harmony with nature. Leftover wood, structural plywood, and metal pipes were transformed into custom skate ramps and obstacles in the forest.
ART & FUNCTIONAL SPACE
The concept rapidly expanded beyond skateboarding. The exact same reclaimed exhibition materials became site-specific art installations, stage decorations, environmental exhibitions, and functional communal spaces—giving discarded objects a second life.
